The side will look to pock their maiden national games title in Nakuru

Dan Ngoni and Amos Okwako each scored eight goals to propel Hospital Hill to a 40-23 thrashing of Aquinas High in the the boys' handball at the Nairobi Region Kenya Secondary School Sport Association (KSSSA) Games that concluded on Sunday at Lenana School.

Going into the final, the eventual winners beaten all their group stage opponents convincingly and were unstoppable throughout the knock-out stages making Aquinas the toughest opponent they were to face yet.

At half time, Aquinas had kept affairs close, trailing four goals at 20-16 but they lost all the gas in the second half, allowing Hospital Hill to run rings around them for the final score.

"We had set a target of scoring at least 60 goals in the final but Aquinas came hard at us even managing 23 goals, contrary to what we had planned. That meant our defence did not work as well as we wanted and we have to work on that before heading to the nationals.

We had come prepared for this title but now we have to go back to school and embark on even better preparations for the nationals.

In the last edition held in 2019, we did not capitalise on the experience we had gained playing in the league but this time round we will be jeen nit yo repeat the same mistakes we made then," offered Hospital Hill's skipper Ngoni

Aquinas' John Deng scored eight for the side with Tom Okoth adding six but it was not enough to cause an upset against the holders.

"We had little time to prepare for this championship and that cost us the title. Hospital Hill had better stamina and were too quick and we could not match their speed. We have, however, taken crucial lessons from this and we will restrategise for next year," offered Aquinas skipper Deng.

Enroute to the final, the side that has acquired considerable experience playing in the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) league.
